All-Energy '08 exhibits dramatic growth
Increasing global, and in particular UK, interest in renewable energy is being demonstrated once more by a substantial rise in space bookings for All-Energy, the UK’s largest renewable energy exhibition and conference.
Space booked and on hold for the 2008 show, which takes place in Aberdeen on 21 and 22 May, has already exceeded the total amount of floor space (2,700 m2) taken up at All-Energy ‘07.
‘We are encouraged to see many exhibitors returning to take larger amounts of space, many large pavilion areas both from overseas – Austria, Canada, Denmark, Norway – and from specific UK areas – Aberdeen City and Shire, East of England, Fife, Highlands & Islands, Orkney – and are delighted to welcome some companies exhibiting with us for the first time,’ says project director Judith Patten of Media Generation Events, which organises the show in partnership with Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre. ‘We’re certainly not resting on our laurels, but talking with a great many companies at home and overseas about their exhibiting plans and look forward to opening with a superb, and larger than ever, show.’
All-Energy ’07 attracted 4,000 participants from 50 countries, with 350 exhibiting companies and 220 speakers. Many of the topics covered – including wave and tidal, bioenergy, carbon capture and storage, hydrogen and fuel cells, microgeneration, and offshore and onshore wind – will be featured in the 2008 event.
There were inward missions from 14 countries at All-Energy ’07. UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and BERR are currently putting together the inward mission programme for the 2008 event, which will include tailored programmes of company meetings, and site visits across the UK and at All-Energy itself. Once again UKTI and BERR will host an international conference session within All-Energy on the first day of the event, focusing on opportunities for engaging with industry and growth opportunities offered by the UK market. Members of visiting delegations will also be encouraged to hold individual country-briefing sessions on day two of the event.
Once again, many key speakers will be taking part. ‘The conference will be addressed on the opening morning by UK Energy Minister Malcolm Wicks MP, and by Jim Mather MSP, the Scottish Government’s Minister for Enterprise, Energy & Tourism,’ says Judith Patten. Dr David Clarke, the CEO of the new Energy Technologies Institute will be among the speakers in the plenary session on the second day. The free-to-attend conference will cover all sources of renewable energy and the issues, challenges and opportunities facing the rapidly expanding global industry. We are grateful to all our supporting organisations for the hard work they put into planning the conference, and look forward to another highly successful event.’
