SeaEnergy
In October 2009 SeaEnergy signed an agreement with Taiwan Generations Corporation (TGC) to jointly develop TGC’s pipeline of offshore wind farm projects.
TGC, and SeaEnergy subsidiary SeaEnergy Renewables Ltd, will plan, construct and operate three projects within Taiwan totalling 1.7GW. The first project will be the Changhua Offshore Wind Farm in the Taiwan Strait, which will have an installed capacity of 600MW. Challenges, such as developing a strong supply chain and developing vessels that are optimised for offshore wind farm construction, will have to be addressed.
SeaEnergy is an offshore wind farm developer based in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, and was the UK’s first listed company to focus exclusively on the offshore wind industry.
They provide unrivalled offshore development and deployment expertise, including the technical and project management experience essential to ensuring successful project delivery.
SeaEnergy has experience within the offshore wind industry, having conceived, developed and delivered the Beatrice offshore wind farm in the North Sea; the world’s first deep water wind farm development owned and operated by Talismann Energy. SeaEnergy also currently has a 25% interest in two joint ventures to develop offshore wind farms with a total capacity of over 1800MW with partners Scottish & Southern Energy (Airtricity) and RWE AG (npower).
